Version 4.9.0 makes signing in to DashClip Delivery easier and safer. You can now sign in with a passkey, your profile is laid out more clearly, and your team's channel overview only shows channels that are currently accepting videos. Here is what changes for you and how to use the new features.
Sign in with a passkey
A passkey lets your device do the work instead of you typing a password. You simply confirm the sign-in with your fingerprint, your face or the PIN of your phone or computer. The passkey stays on your device or in your password manager. It cannot be guessed and only works on our site, so it also protects you from fake sign-in pages.
The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) recommends passkeys too. In its assessment, they are superior to signing in with a username and password in many respects and protect against the vast majority of known phishing attacks. Here is how to set up a passkey:
- Open your profile.
- In the "Passkeys" section, choose "Add passkey".
- Give the passkey a name, for example "Phone", and confirm with your current password.
- Follow the prompt from your device or password manager.
Next time, simply choose "Sign in with a passkey" on the sign-in page. You can add several passkeys and rename or remove them at any time.
Once you have set up a passkey, it also protects your account when you sign in with your password: after your password, DashClip Delivery asks for your passkey as well. Someone who only knows your password cannot get into your account.
Note
It is best to set up passkeys on more than one device, for example on your phone and your computer. That way you can still get into your account when one device is not at hand.
A tidier profile
Your profile is now organised into clear sections. Under "Personal details" you will find your name, your submitter name and the language for your account. Under "Sign-in and security" you change your email address and password. Your sign-in methods and notifications have their own place too.
Your profile now also opens right inside your usual area, with the full navigation at the side. From your profile you can go straight to your videos, downloads or offers.
More protection for your email address and password
When you change your email address or password, we now ask for your current password. The field appears as soon as you enter a new email address or a new password. That way nobody can change these important details just because you forgot to sign out on someone else's device.
Only channels that accept videos
Channel operators can temporarily pause receiving new videos. Such channels no longer appear in your team's channel overview and can no longer be assigned. So you only see the channels that can actually receive your clips right now. When a channel accepts videos again, it automatically shows up again.
